Hillery was born a displaced New Yorker. In fact the only time she felt at home in the Midwest was when a Woody Allen movie was playing within earshot. (And yet wasn’t she living one? We’ll get to that later.) She finally arrived in New York City at 18 and started to think about how the world should be introduced to her now that she was finally in it. She went to the office supply shop around the corner and printed up 100 social cards on which she gave herself the title Opinionated Observer.
